• I hold a BA in mathematics with a concentration in Computer Programming and Electronics from East Carolina University (1986)
• I’ve taken courses toward a BS in Geology with a concentration in coastal / barrier island systems;
• I am the former publisher/editor/writer of our community newspaper, The (Currituck) Independent ( 2001 – 2009) serving mainland Currituck, Knotts Island, Gibbs Woods and the Currituck Outer Banks.
• owner operator of Coinjock Creek Farms / Griggs Corner Ice & Produce – A local farm, & direct to customer vegetable delivery service (2005 – present)
• principal/owner in Currituck Consulting Group – providing website and social media consulting; data analysis; database development; commercial printing & graphic design services; (2002 – present)

I am a graduate of the Currituck County School System (1982), East Carolina University (1986) and an 8th generation Currituck Native.

The name Snowden appears in deeds and records from as early as the 1710s. My roots on the Caffey, Gallop, Bateman and Simpson side of our family tie me to the Outer Banks from Duck through Corolla and over to Knotts Island.

I am running because I love Currituck County – I am not running to further my personal business interests or any other personal gains – my “day job” (from which I soon will be retiring), affords me the means I need.

I am saddened by the lack of vision and lack of direction our county “leadership” has taken in the last 13 years – WE CAN DO BETTER!
